It has been awhile since I last posted, life has been a little crazy.  First my oldest son Mark got the flu, he was very sick for about two weeks.  Just as he started to get better my husband began to get sick.  He woke up in the middle of the night and got up to get a blanket.  He ended up passing out and as he fell he hit the wall, smashed a picture and ended up falling all the way to the floor and landing in the glass.  He was pretty cut up from the glass and stayed unconscious for about a minute.  So needless to say we ended up in the emergency room.  After a night in the emergency room he was admitted so that they could keep him on oxygen and fluids.  He is home now and everyone is healthy so I'm back to stitching.

I have been hard at work on Roses of Provence.  I'm still on the dress it is a lot of color changes, but I'm loving her she is going to be very pretty when she is finished.

I spent most of this evening doing finishing work.  The first project was Vanilla and Chocolate by Little House Needleworks.  I stitched it onto the Thread Armoire, which is a really handy tool that holds my hand dyed threads and has room for parking some needles as well.   I am the worlds worst hand stitcher so don't look too carefully at my stitches.  I used invisible thread so hopefully my messing sewing doesn't show up too much.

The second project I finished today was the first in the sheep virtues series by Little House Needleworks - Hope.  I'm really excited about this series there will be a different piece each month.

I'm trying to decide how to display the Sheep Virtue Pillows.  If you have any suggestions please feel free to share.

On Thursday I will be traveling to Myrtle Beach for a stitching retreat with Susan Greening Davis.  Very much looking forward to a break.  I'll post details of the trip next week.

That's all for now - back to working on Roses of Provence.

January 1, 2013:

Happy New Year!!!

Here is hoping that 2013 goes a little smoother than 2012!!

It is the first day of the new year and I have a finish and  new start...

My finish is 6 Fat Men by Lizzie Kate.  I really enjoyed this pattern.  I had hoped to finish it by Christmas or at least by the end of 2012, but life intervened.  Lots of color and fun in this one, it's a happy design.

I should be finishing up some of my works in progress but yesterday I received the latest Mirabilia Roses of Provence and I couldn't resist starting it.  Here is my start on Lilac by Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie.

It's not much to look at yet - but the pattern is amazing I can't wait to see it develop.

The Haro family ended 2012 on a sad note.  Our beloved dog The Return of Jafar got out of the yard and was hit by a car and killed.  The boys, particularly Mark, were heartbroken so we decided we would get a puppy.  Yesterday we picked up our new family member Gollum.  He is a very cute little lab/hound mix that we rescued from the shelter.  He is approximately 3 months old.

A few stitching resolutions for 2013:  I will finish The Thimble Fairy; Madonna of the Garden; and Dress Makers Daughter.  I will also try to work on at least one of my HAED's.  In addition, I would love to finish the Muses and stitch the Red Ladies series as well.  I am also going to try my hand and framing some of my pieces on my own.  I have a ton of completed designs that are boxed up because I can't afford to have them professionally framed and still buy more stash.  And finally I will try to post updates more often.

November 3, 2012:

It has been a long time since my last post, but that doesn't mean I haven't been stitching.  Work has been busy and it has slowed me down some, but I have several projects in progress and a couple of finishes as well.  My first big finish is the Lizzie Kates - Very Scary Mystery Sampler SAL.  This is one of my favorite projects of all time.  I love Halloween and the colors are amazing.  There are also a few specialty stitches thrown in for extra visual interest.  I hope to have this one framed by next Halloween.

Along with Very Scary I finished the third bonus design, Scary.  I'm trying to decide how to finish the three bonus designs.  I'm thinking possibly pillow ornaments and starting a Halloween ornament tree for next year.

After finishing these projects I decided to stick with Lizzie Kate and the Halloween theme.  I started Halloween Rules and managed to finish it on Halloween.

You can probably tell that I love Halloween.  My boys do as well.  This year Christopher was Scooby Doo and Mark was General Grievous.  Here are the boys with their pumpkins, Christopher made a Hello Kitty pumpkin and Mark a Captain America pumpkin:

I am currently working on catching up on the Passione Ricamo Mystery Fairy SAL.  I'm working on Part III and have IV and V left to catch up on.

I will try to start posting again more frequently.  After I get caught up on the Mystery Fairy I'm going to try to finish The Thimble Fairy and then I may start something for Christmas.
